EHS Regional Manager (8/19/08)

Location: PA Harrisburg or Bethlehem

Responsibilities:

  • Provide regional and local leadership while partnering with operational business functions to enable efficient knowledge transfer of key skills to managers, supervisors and employees.
  • Build effective programs to ensure that all operations are fully compliant with Federal, State and local laws.
  • Implement a comprehensive total facility audit process to maintain regulatory compliance, ensure continuous improvement and facilitate the transfer of best practices across the business.
  • Develop and implement regional and local initiatives that provide effective solutions to current, and anticipate, the changing business needs to build and sustain a world-class safety culture.
  • In conjunction with the business, develop annual safety plans which adequately budget for, and address, the changing needs of the business.
  • Manage and report on established company metrics while developing appropriate regional and local metrics which add value to the operations.
  • Manage relationship with workers compensation, medical resources, and safety organization to establish systems which provide appropriate care for associates and support the needs of the business.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve the knowledge and skill of the facility managers/supervisors to improve systems and positively impact the safe operations of the business.
  • Actively participate on both Corporate and local Safety Committee and weekly Workers Compensation conference calls.

Requirements:

  • BS/BA in safety or related discipline.
  • ASP/CSP designations preferred, or actively pursuing such designations, as well as current participation in a professional association or professional development program.
  • 5+ years direct experience in fast paced, multi-location business environment

Environment Health and Safety Manager (8/19/08)

Qualified candidates should have:

  • at least 5 years experience within industry, preferably food and/or beverage operations;

Director of EHS (8/18/08)

A global company located near Clifton, NJ with nearly $8 billion dollar in sales is looking for a Director of EHS. This position is an exciting opportunity to join an international leader in the design, production and support of cutting edge technologies in the electronics and high technology area. They are looking for a detailed oriented individual with strong interpersonal and problem solving skills with the demonstrated ability to analyze work processes and make efficiency improvements to administer and implement all major programs affecting employee EHS for five business groups.

This positions will supervise 3 professionals and have indirect supervision of EHS personnel at nine manufacturing sites located in the US. This is a new position which is the result of recent acquisitions doubling the size of the business units. They are looking for someone who has experience in both the environmental compliance as well as health and safety issues in a manufacturing environment. Management and leadership skills are mandatory.

Requirements are 10 or more years of experience in the EHS field with a thorough working knowledge of safety, industrial hygiene and environmental compliance issues(including some remediation projects) and EHS Systems in a manufacturing environment. A working knowledge of 6 Sigma, strong leadership and communications skills, and a 4 year degree are also required. Experience in a high tech. industry and/or multi site responsibility is preferred but not required. Travel will be as high as 70% the first 2 years.

The Safety and Training Coordinator directs the safety management system for the Allentown plant by acting as the key resource to drive the safety, fire, environmental, industrial hygiene, training and security elements.

This individual chairs the safety committee, facilitates the accident investigation process, responds to safety concerns, and works with the appropriate individuals to ensure a safe working environment and knowledgeable workforce, as well as conducting plant audits and maintaining all OSHA required and plant safety documents and records.

The Safety and Training Coordinator develops and delivers in-house training programs and/or sources and acts as the facilitator for external training resources, as well as maintaining the plants training records.

This individual acts as the liaison during safety, fire, and environmental audits, including OSHA inspections and coordinates and monitors on-site contractor safety training and compliance.

Education / Experience / Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Management, Engineering, or equivalent field with a CSP or CIH preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of safety experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
